Designer trim and a counter-depth cabinet make the E23CS78ESS the E-generation Icon side-by-side with a door dispenser. The dispenser serves ice and water through the door, and this is an older US model. Revisions E23CS78ESS0, E23CS78ESS1 and E23CS78ESS2 are on record. The Professional Series version in the same generation is the E23CS78EPS.
The dispenser makes this refrigerator a little more complicated to service than a plain model. If the water is slow or the ice stops, we start at the supply line and shutoff, move to the filter and inlet valve, and finish at the ice maker. Mineral buildup or an overdue filter can slow the flow, so we check those early.
Cooling gets tested too: fan, defrost parts and damper. The cabinet label gets read before any order goes out. Expect the quote in writing, with 30 days of coverage on labor afterward, and an honest word if the cost does not suit an older refrigerator. What slows the water at my dispenser?

Why did the ice stop but the water still works?
The ice maker has its own fill valve, mold and control. We check the freezer temperature first, since ice will not make properly if the freezer runs warm, and then the ice maker.
