Microwave Repair in Houston

Electrolux microwaves include built-in, over-the-range and countertop models. We repair heating, turntable, door and control problems in newer and older units, and we say so when a repair is not worth it, throughout the Houston area.

01What goes wrong

Common microwave problems we fix

In the order we see them across Houston homes.

01

Hums along while food stays cold

02

Sparking or crackling in the cavity

03

Display lit but buttons do nothing

04

Turntable stuck or grinding

05

Door will not latch or close

06

Over-the-range light or fan not working

Electrolux microwaves are built into cabinetry, mounted over the range or placed on the counter. Over-the-range models also combine a vent fan and lights, so grease and heat reach them more than other types. All microwaves rely on door switches that must work before the unit will run.

Humidity and grease in Houston kitchens wear on door seals, fans and controls, and over-the-range models also absorb heat rising from the cooktop. A power surge can also harm the control board.

We start with the door latch and switches, then the control, the fan, the turntable and the heating section. The high-voltage parts are tested with care and never casually opened. If your microwave is older and out of warranty, we say honestly whether to repair it or replace it.

05Microwave questions
My microwave runs but food stays cold. Is it safe?

Stop using it for now. A microwave that runs without heating may have a failed part in the high-voltage section, which is unsafe to open yourself. A diode, magnetron or capacitor could be the cause, and we test before suggesting a repair.

Why is my microwave sparking inside?

Metal, foil, a damaged cavity coating or a burned waveguide cover can all cause sparks. Do not use it again until it has been checked. If the cover or coating is damaged, repair or replacement depends on the model.

Should I fix an older built-in microwave?

If the problem is a door switch, a fan or a control, usually yes. If the heating section has failed on an older unit, replacing may be cheaper. We explain both options clearly before you decide.
