What 11 / 14 means

On Electrolux Wave-Touch induction built-in slide-in ranges, such as the EW30IS65JS and EW30IS6CJS, the cooktop control reports 11 when it senses a jammed key, and 14 when the touch panel tail is missing from the ESEC induction cooktop control. In plain terms, one code says a key reads as held down, and the other says the touch panel connection is not being detected. Cooktop controls may stop responding while either code shows.

Common causes of 11 / 14

  • Touch panel with something resting on the glass
  • Touch panel ribbon connection (code 14)
  • ESEC cooktop control or user interface board
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Make sure nothing is lying on the touch area, such as a pot lid, towel or utensil. 2. Wipe the glass with a dry cloth to remove moisture. 3. Switch the range off at its breaker for a full half minute, then switch it on. 4. If 11 or 14 comes back, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Code 11 can be a sticky or damp touch area or a failing panel, and code 14 points to the panel connection, so we check each separately.
  • We look at the ribbon connection before replacing any panel or board.
  • You approve the written price first, and the repair is covered for 30 days of workmanship.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
11 / 1411 / 14 questions
What is the difference between 11 and 14?

Code 11 means the control sees a key held down, and code 14 means the touch panel connection is not detected. The cooktop shows whichever one it finds.

Can spills cause code 11?

Yes. Moisture or something resting on the glass can make the control think a key is pressed. Wipe the panel dry first, then try again before you call.

Will a power reset fix it?

A 30-second power-off clears a passing glitch. If the code comes straight back, the panel or its connection needs to be tested, and we do that on site.
