What 32 / 33 / 72 / 73 means
On the Electrolux Wave-Touch induction built-in slide-in ranges, such as the EW30IS65JS and EW30IS6CJS, codes 32 and 33 report a power supply defect in the left cooking zones, and codes 72 and 73 report the same problem on the right. The control found that the supply section feeding that side is not behaving correctly, so it shuts that side down for protection. The code shows on the cooktop display, and the zones on the affected side stay cold.
Common causes of 32 / 33 / 72 / 73
- Power supply section in the induction housing
- Connectors and wiring to that side
- Cooktop control board
1. Shut off the range at its breaker, wait half a minute, then restore power. 2. Make sure the breaker is switched fully on and is not hot to the touch. 3. Note which side shows the code, and whether the other side still heats. 4. If the code comes back, leave that side off and call us.
- This code names the supply section on one side, though it cannot say whether a board, a connector or the house supply is responsible, so we check the incoming power first.
- We test the affected side against the working side.
- We put the price in writing ahead of the work, and if the range is past the point of making repair sensible, we tell you directly.
Other Range codes
Why are there four codes?
The codes are split by side and by type. Codes 32 and 33 are for the left cooking zones, and codes 72 and 73 are for the right cooking zones.
Does this mean my house wiring is bad?
Not necessarily. We check the incoming voltage at the range first, because a problem in the house supply can look the same as a problem inside the range.
Should I repair or replace an older induction range?
That depends on which part is needed. With the written price in hand, you can weigh it against a new range, and we give our own opinion if you ask.
