What 39 means
Electrolux Wave-Touch induction built-in slide-in ranges, such as the EW30IS65JS and EW30IS6CJS, show code 39 when the surface control user interface board and the induction housing assembly do not agree on their configuration. This often appears after a board or housing has been replaced. The two parts must be set up to match, and the setup is done with a specific key sequence on the On and Off keys. Until that is done, the cooktop does not run normally.
Common causes of 39
- Replacement board or housing that was not configured
- Control board and housing from different versions
- Configuration data in the control
1. Switch the range off at its breaker for half a minute, then back on. 2. Check whether the code appeared right after any recent service on the range. 3. Do not press keys at random to try to configure it. 4. If 39 comes back, call us.
- The code tells us the two parts disagree, so we confirm that the board and housing are the right versions for this range.
- The reconfiguration needs the correct key sequence, and we do it carefully.
- Setup and any parts are quoted in writing first, and we back our workmanship for 30 days.
Other Range codes
Why did code 39 appear after a repair?
A new board or housing has to be set up to match the rest of the range. If that step was not completed, the control shows 39.
Can I fix it myself?
We would rather you did not press keys at random, because a wrong sequence can leave the settings in a confusing state. We handle the reconfiguration for you.
Does it mean something is broken?
Not always. It may simply be a setup mismatch. We check that the parts are the correct ones for your range, and then set them up properly.
Still seeing 39?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
