What E14 means
On Electrolux radiant electric ranges with electronic surface element control, such as the EW30ES65GS, EW30EF65GS and EI30ES55JS, E14 means the surface control does not detect the tail that links the touch panel and display. The tail is the thin ribbon connection between the glass panel and the control behind it. Without it, the control cannot read your touches or drive the display, so the surface elements stop. This covers slide-in and Wave-Touch freestanding ranges.
Common causes of E14
- Touch panel or display ribbon connection
- Touch panel
- ESEC surface control board
1. Flip the range's breaker off for half a minute, then back on. 2. Wipe the panel dry and look for any gap or damage at its edges, without taking anything apart. 3. Try a surface element to see whether the code returns. 4. Should E14 return, call us before you use the cooktop again.
- The control says the ribbon connection is missing, which may be a loose connector or a damaged panel, so we check the connection before replacing parts.
- We test the panel and the board after that.
- Parts are ordered only after you approve the written price, and our repair is under a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What is a tail on the display?
It is a thin ribbon cable that connects the touch panel to the control board behind it. If the control does not detect it, you get E14.
Should I open the panel to check it?
No. The control area is not a place for owners to work. We have the right tools and procedure, so please leave the panel in place.
Can E14 be repaired without a new board?
Often the problem is the connection or the panel itself. We check those first and tell you plainly before any bigger part is considered. That way you are not paying for a board the range does not need.
Still seeing E14?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
