What F15 means
On Electrolux Wave-Touch induction built-in slide-in ranges, such as the EW30IS65JS and EW30IS6CJS, F15 means the controller self-check failed or a thermal cutoff is open. When E15 shows on the cooktop at the same time, the safety thermostat in the front console has opened, which points to a cooling problem. F15 can also be caused by a missing sync signal from the relay board. The oven stops while the code shows.
Common causes of F15
- Front console safety thermostat and cooling fan
- Relay board sync signal
- Oven control board
1. Note whether E15 is showing on the cooktop and tell us. 2. Make sure the front vents are clear and nothing is stored against the range. 3. Switch the range off at the breaker for half a minute, then restore power. 4. If F15 returns, stop using the range and call us.
- F15 has more than one possible cause, so we look at cooling first when E15 is also showing, and the relay board and control after that.
- A safety thermostat opens for a reason, so we look for what caused it.
- You see the price on paper before any board is ordered, and our repair is covered for 30 days.
Other Range codes
What does it mean when F15 and E15 show together?
It means the safety thermostat in the front console opened, which usually points to heat. We check the cooling fan and airflow, as well as the controls.
Does the radiant range have the same F15?
Not quite. On the radiant and gas slide-ins F15 means the controller self-check failed, and the fix differs. Tell us your model and we will check the right thing.
Is it safe to keep using the range?
We would not count on it. A failed self-check or opened thermostat is a protection step, so leave the range off until we have looked at it.
Still seeing F15?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
