What 36 / 76 means
On Electrolux Wave-Touch induction built-in slide-in ranges, such as the EW30IS65JS and EW30IS6CJS, codes 36 and 76 report a communication error with the induction housing, 36 for the left side and 76 for the right. The control cannot talk to the housing that contains the coils and their electronics, so it stops heating on that side. You see the code and the zones on that side stay off. The other side often keeps working.
Common causes of 36 / 76
- Connector or wiring to the induction housing
- Induction housing assembly
- Cooktop control board
1. Turn the range off at its breaker for half a minute, then turn it on again. 2. Wipe the glass dry and clear any objects off the cooktop. 3. Check whether the other side heats normally. 4. If the code returns, leave that side off and call us.
- The control lost its link with the housing, but the code does not say whether the link, the housing or the control is responsible, so we test them in order.
- We check the connectors first, because they are the most economical item to correct.
- We quote first, in writing, and the repair is backed by 30 days of workmanship coverage.
Other Range codes
Does 36 mean the left side?
Yes. Code 36 is the left side and code 76 is the right side. Both say the control cannot communicate with the induction housing on that side.
Will the other side keep working?
In many cases yes, but not always. If the whole cooktop behaves oddly, we suggest you stop using it until we have checked. Either way, tell us what the other side does, because it helps us narrow down the cause.
Is this repair costly?
It depends on whether it is a connection or a part. We give you the written price first, and we tell you honestly if it is not worth repairing.
