Electrolux EI30GS55JS Gas Slide-In Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Oven that stays cold even though the igniter glows
- Burners that no longer click
- Oven temperature that is off from the setting
- Controls that do not respond
Sealed top burners, a gas oven and IQ-Touch controls come with the EI30GS55JS, a 30-inch natural gas slide-in range from Electrolux. The range was discontinued some time ago and still turns up between countertops in many Houston kitchens.
A gas slide-in has the gas connection and the power cord at the back, and the range slides between the cabinets with a gap around it. We shut off the gas and pull the range out when we need to reach those connections. After that we test the oven igniter, the burner spark module, the oven sensor and the touch controls, in the order that fits what you describe.
Model and revision come off the label before an order goes in. The estimate is in your hands before work starts. If a repair makes no sense on an older range, we say that too.

Why does my slide-in gas oven not light?
A worn igniter can glow without passing enough current to open the gas valve. We measure it, replace it if it fails and check the valve and the sensor. The price is quoted first.
Several burners on my EI30GS55JS do not click. What is the cause?
When more than one burner is silent, the spark module or its power is the likely cause, not each electrode. We test the module and the wiring first.
Do you need to move the range to repair it?
Usually, for work on the back or the connections. We shut off the gas, slide it out with floor protection, and test it in place before we leave.
