What Er 10 means

Er 10 on the Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch built-in dishwashers, the EWDW6505G and EIDW6305G, reports a failure in the main power relay. The relay is the switch on the control that supplies power to the pump, heater and valves. If it does not switch as the control expects, the dishwasher cannot run its loads safely, so it stops and shows Er 10. These are older units that many owners still use.

What does the main relay do?

It switches power to the working parts of the dishwasher. If it fails, nothing powered by it will run. Pumps, valves and heaters all rely on that relay, and if it does not close properly, none of them can be switched on safely.

Can I keep using it if it starts again?

We suggest not. A failing relay can stick on or off, and that can cause trouble later. A relay that does not switch properly may stick on or off, so using the dishwasher with that message is a risk we would rather avoid.
