What i70 means
Electrolux ICON dishwashers such as the EI24ID50QS and EW24ID80QS display i70 when the water temperature reading is outside the range the control accepts. The thermistor that makes this reading lives inside the turbidity sensor, which also judges how cloudy the wash water is. Without a believable temperature the control cannot manage heating, so the dishwasher may stop partway or wash poorly.
Common causes of i70
- Thermistor in the turbidity sensor
- Sensor plug or harness
- Control board input that reads the sensor
1. Press Cancel and open the door.n2. Take out the filter and rinse it under the tap.n3. Close the door and run one short cycle.n4. If i70 returns, note the point in the cycle where it appeared and call us.
- i70 only tells us the reading is out of range, so we test the sensor, its plug and the control input one at a time.
- We look for scale or damage on the sensor housing.
- The price is quoted in writing and you approve it before we begin.
Other Dishwasher codes
What is the turbidity sensor for?
It checks how cloudy the wash water is so the dishwasher can judge how soiled the load is. The temperature thermistor shares its housing.
Will the dishwasher still wash with i70?
It may stop. If it keeps running, results can suffer because the control lacks a temperature reading.
Should I swap the sensor on my own?
We advise against it. It sits in the water circuit with its own wiring, so we test first and replace only if needed.
Still seeing i70?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
