What iF1 means
If an Electrolux ICON dishwasher, such as the EI24CD35RS or EW24ID80QS, shows iF1, the control saw water above the safety level for more than four seconds and started draining. This is a safety reaction, not just a warning. The dishwasher stops filling and tries to pump out the excess, so you may hear the drain pump run and find water in the tub or under the unit.
Common causes of iF1
- Fill valve not shutting off
- Pressure sensor or its hose
- Drain pump or hose restriction
- Control board level input
1. Press Cancel and wait while the dishwasher drains. 2. Turn off the water supply valve to the dishwasher. 3. Check the floor and the cabinet for water, and dry it up. 4. Leave the supply off and call us.
- The control reacts to water level, so we test the valve, the sensor and the drain pump to see which one let it get too high.
- We look for leaks and dampness under the unit.
- We tell you the price in writing before the work starts.
Other Dishwasher codes
Should I turn the water off?
Yes. If the fill valve is stuck open, the dishwasher can keep taking water, so the supply valve under the sink is the safest place to stop it.
Why does it drain by itself?
That is the safety response. The control empties the tub to get the level back down.
Could it have leaked onto my floor?
Possibly. Check the floor and the cabinet base, and tell us if you find water so we look at the seals too.
