What L4 / L5 flash pattern (no-display models) means

Some Electrolux ICON built-in dishwashers have no display and show a code by flashing lights instead. As we read it, the L4 light flashes the number of the code family, and the L5 light flashes the final digit of the i-code. Counting both gives the two parts of the code. The exact models without a display are not clear, so treat this as a reading aid, not a certain answer.

Common causes of L4 / L5 flash pattern (no-display models)

  • The code family and digit you counted
  • Whatever circuit that i-code covers
  • Sensor, pump or control board depending on the code
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press Cancel and wait for the lights to settle. 2. Count the flashes on L4, pause, then count the flashes on L5. 3. Write both numbers down and the cycle step when it happened. 4. Call us with both counts so we can match them to the right code.

! Why to stop there
  • The flash counts point to a family and a digit, and we confirm them by testing instead of trusting a count alone.
  • We then check the circuit that the matched code covers.
  • The price is written and agreed before work, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
L4 / L5 flash pattern (no-display models)L4 / L5 flash pattern (no-display models) questions
How do I count the flashes?

Watch L4 until it stops, then watch L5. Write the numbers down, since it is easy to lose count. You can repeat the observation after pressing Cancel.

Does every model show this?

No. It is used on dishwashers without a display. If yours shows an i-code on a screen, read that instead.

Is the code always accurate?

It is a good clue, not a final answer. We confirm it with a test before we recommend a part.
