What iC1 / iC2 means
Electrolux ICON dishwashers such as the EI24ID50QS and EW24ID80QS use these two codes for problems on the internal data lines between boards. An iC1 reports an error on the MACS bus, and an iC2 reports an error on the ADSI link. Both mean parts of the control system are not exchanging information reliably. The dishwasher may stop, ignore buttons or start a cycle and then quit.
Common causes of iC1 / iC2
- Wiring harness between the boards
- Display board
- Main control board
- Loose or corroded connector
1. Press Cancel and watch the display. 2. Close the door firmly and try one short cycle. 3. Write down whether the code was iC1 or iC2 and when it appeared. 4. If it comes back, leave the dishwasher off and call us.
- A communication error can come from a wire, a connector or a board, and we trace each link before changing anything.
- We check the harness for heat or moisture damage.
- The price is written and approved first, and you get a 30-day warranty.

What do MACS and ADSI mean?
They are names for the internal data links the boards use. You do not need to know more than that: the message says two boards are not talking.
Can moisture cause this?
It can, if damp air reaches a connector. We look for corrosion on the plugs.
Why does the dishwasher quit mid-cycle?
If the link drops, the control loses instructions and stops to stay safe.
Still seeing iC1 / iC2?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
