What PRESS START means
PRESS START is not an error. On Electrolux ICON built-in dishwashers such as the EI24ID50QS and EW24ID70QT, the message scrolls across the display to remind you to close the door within five seconds of pressing Start. If the door is not shut in time, the dishwasher waits and the cycle does not begin. It shows up most often when you press Start and then load one last dish.
Common causes of PRESS START
- Door not closed within five seconds of pressing Start
- Door latch not catching
- Items sticking out of a rack
1. Open the door, then push the racks in fully. 2. Press Start and close the door right away, within five seconds. 3. Check that the latch clicks and nothing blocks the door. 4. If the door will not catch, call us.
- If you close the door in time and the message stays, the latch or door switch may not be registering, so we test them.
- We check that the door aligns with the tub.
- We tell you the price in writing first.

Why does it keep scrolling?
The door was not closed in time or the latch did not engage. Close it firmly and press Start again.
What if the door looks closed?
