What F2 means

F2 on the older Electrolux built-in wall ovens with the four-code control shows first when two parts of the control cannot talk to each other. It covers F21, a communication problem with the auxiliary board, and F23, one with the TST board behind the glass panel. All of them show as F2 at first, so the exact code must be read separately. They are older built-in ovens, many still cooking daily in Houston homes, and we service them.

Common causes of F2

  • Auxiliary board communication
  • TST board behind the glass panel
  • Wiring between the boards
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press CLEAR to dismiss the code. 2. Switch the oven off and wait for the cavity to cool if it is warm. 3. Do not open the control panel or touch the boards. 4. If F2 returns, call us and tell us the oven shows F2.

! Why to stop there
  • F2 is a group, so we need to read whether F21 or F23 is behind it before we know which board to test.
  • We check the wiring between the boards.
  • The price is written down before work starts, and we tell you if the age of the oven makes the repair a poor choice.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
F2F2 questions
What do F21 and F23 mean?

F21 is a communication problem with the auxiliary board. F23 is a communication problem with the TST board behind the glass panel. Both begin as F2, so we read the full code on site.

Can I read the exact code myself?

The control can show it, but it takes a precise key sequence, and we do not suggest you try it on your own. We read the exact code when we visit.

Is it worth repairing an older oven?

That turns on which board is involved and how the rest of the oven has held up. We quote in writing first and give you a straight answer on whether to repair.
