What F26 means
F26 on a 2007-generation Electrolux double wall oven, such as the EW30EW55GS, EW30EW65GS or EW27EW65GS, means the lower convection fan and lights board is not receiving the lower oven select signal. The control uses that signal to know the lower oven is being called on. You will hear a beep and see F26 on the display, and the lower oven may not start. It applies to double ovens only. These are older ovens that we repair, and we tell you plainly if the repair is not worth it.
Common causes of F26
- Wiring and connectors carrying the select signal to the lower board
- The lower convection fan and lights board
- The oven control board
1. Press any key and see whether F26 clears. 2. If it does not, cut the oven's power at the breaker for half a minute, then reconnect it. 3. Check whether the upper oven runs normally and tell us. 4. If F26 shows again, do not keep trying the lower oven. Call us.
- The code reports a missing signal, not which part lost it, so we trace the signal from the control to the lower board.
- We look at the connectors first and then the boards.
- Once we know the cause, you approve a written quote first, and the work comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Wall Oven codes
Why only the lower oven?
The select signal is how the control tells the lower fan and lights board to act. When it does not arrive, only the lower oven is affected.
Is F26 the same as F24?
They are related to the lower board but they are different checks. F24 is a lost communication link, and F26 is a missing select signal.
Is it worth repairing an older double oven?
Often yes, since wiring problems are modest repairs. If a board is needed, we give the price first and an honest opinion on whether to repair or replace.
Still seeing F26?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
