What PF means
PF means the older Electrolux wall oven lost power and has come back on. The timer flashes PF when power returns after an outage, a tripped breaker or a brief interruption. On the older 4-code control, the PF screen is also used to reveal the exact code when the oven has stopped on a problem, so it is worth noting any other code that appears. Press a key to clear it and set the clock again. These are older ovens still in many Houston homes, and we repair them.
Common causes of PF
- Household power outage or a flicker
- Tripped or loose breaker
- Control that restarts on its own
1. Press a key to clear PF. 2. Set the clock again, then start your cooking as usual. 3. If another F code appears on the display, write it down. 4. If PF keeps appearing with no outage, check that the oven's breaker is on firmly, and call us if it persists.
- PF by itself is just a power event, but if it repeats without an outage, we look for a loose connection or a control that is restarting.
- We check the supply to the oven and the connections at the terminal block.
- If a repair is needed, you approve the written quote first, and we tell you honestly when an old oven is not worth the money.
Other Wall Oven codes
Is PF a problem with the oven?
Usually not. It is a reminder that power was interrupted, and the clock needs to be set again. We only get involved if it keeps showing up without any outage, or if another code appears with it.
Why does PF keep showing up?
Repeated PF without an outage points to a loose connection or a control that is restarting. We look at both. A short visit usually settles which one it is.
Can PF show another code?
On the older 4-code control, yes. The PF screen is also used to bring up the exact code, so tell us whatever else you see.
Still unsure about PF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
