What Er 07 / Er 11 / Er 12 means
These three codes on the Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch built-in dishwashers, the EWDW6505G and EIDW6305G, all concern the drain valve. Er 07 means no position feedback while draining. Er 11 means the valve timed out before finding a state. Er 12 means the valve is running when it should be off, which can point to a shorted part. These dishwashers are older units that people still use, and drain trouble can leave water in the tub.
Common causes of Er 07 / Er 11 / Er 12
- Drain valve motor not reporting position
- Valve jammed by debris
- Valve wiring or connector
- Shorted part keeping the valve powered
1. Check the drain hose under the sink for a kink or tight bend. 2. Remove the filter by hand and clear any food or broken glass. 3. Run a short drain or cycle and note which of the three numbers appears. 4. If any returns, leave the dishwasher off and call us with that number.
- Each number points to a different drain valve condition, so we test the valve, its wiring and its control output separately.
- Er 12 can mean power is reaching the valve at the wrong time, which we treat with care before running the unit again.
- We say plainly if an older dishwasher is not worth the repair, and give you the price in writing first.

Which number is the most urgent?
Er 12 gets our attention first, because it points to the valve running when it should be off. We suggest turning the dishwasher off at the breaker until we check.
Why is there water in the bottom?
If the drain valve did not work, water stays in the tub. Bail it out by hand and tell us when you call. Standing water usually means the drain valve did not open, so bail it out with a small cup and tell us what number you saw.
Can a clogged filter cause these?
A blockage can jam the valve, so we check it. The numbers themselves point to the valve circuit. A bit of glass or a seed can jam a valve, but a number such as Er 12 points to the electrical side of the valve instead.
