What LOC means
The LOC message on Electrolux dishwashers, including the EI24ID50QS, EI24CD35RS, EW24ID70QT and EW24ID80QS, is not an error. The owner guide says it indicates the door is locked, and the child lock on the EI24ID50Q uses the same word to show the control panel is locked. While LOC shows, the buttons ignore presses, so a cycle may not start or change.
Common causes of LOC
- Child lock turned on from the control panel
- Door locked indicator during a cycle
- Control panel not responding after the lock
1. Check whether a cycle is running or the door is still locked from the last cycle. 2. If not, unlock the controls the way the Use and Care guide describes for your model. 3. Press a button to see whether the display responds. 4. If LOC will not clear, call us and give us your model number.
- If the lock will not release, the control panel or its buttons may not be reading properly, and we test them.
- We check that the display responds correctly.
- The price is written and agreed before any work, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.

Is LOC an error code?
No. It tells you the controls are locked or the door is locked. It is working as designed.
Why will the buttons not respond?
While the lock is on, the control ignores the buttons on purpose. You need to unlock it before changing a cycle.
What if I cannot find how to unlock it?
The unlock method is in the Use and Care guide for your model. Tell us your model number and we can walk you through it.
Still unsure about LOC?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
