What PF means
PF is a power-loss message on Electrolux built-in dishwashers with the ICON control, such as the EI24ID50QS and EW24ID80QS, and on the EWDW6505G and EIDW6305G. It appears when the dishwasher is first installed or when power to it was interrupted, for example by a storm, a tripped breaker or a short outage. On older panels the HI-TEMP WASH, SANITIZE and START/CANCEL lights flash together. It is a notice, not a broken part.
Common causes of PF
- Power interruption to the dishwasher
- Breaker or outlet that trips now and then
- Loose supply connection
1. Press START/CANCEL to clear the message. 2. Select your cycle again and start a new one. 3. If PF keeps appearing without a power outage, note how often it happens and whether other appliances on the circuit lose power too. 4. Call us if it repeats.
- If PF returns with no outage, something is cutting power to the dishwasher, and we check the supply and the control.
- We look at the connection that feeds the dishwasher.
- You see a written price before we begin, and the work has a 30-day warranty.

Does PF mean I need a repair?
Not after a one-time outage. Press START/CANCEL and run the cycle again. A repair only comes into play if PF keeps showing up.
Why are three lights flashing?
On older panels the flashing HI-TEMP WASH, SANITIZE and START/CANCEL lights are how the dishwasher shows loss of power. Pressing START/CANCEL stops them.
Will I lose the cycle I was running?
Yes, the interrupted cycle does not resume on its own. You start a new one after clearing the message.
Still unsure about PF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
