What F91 means
F91 appears on Electrolux ranges and is grouped with F90, F92, F93 and F94 as a door lock issue in the owner guide. In plain terms, the oven control is not satisfied with how the door lock is responding while it locks or unlocks the door. The display shows F91, and the oven may stop heating or hold the door closed. We treat it as a lock circuit problem and confirm which part is behind it, because the owner guide does not break the five codes apart.
Common causes of F91
- The door lock and latch switch
- Wiring or connectors between the lock and the oven control
- The oven control board
1. Turn off the power to the range at the breaker for up to 30 seconds, then turn it back on. 2. Check that nothing is stuck in the door gasket or latch area. 3. If the oven is cool, try the door again and listen for the latch. 4. If F91 returns, stop using the oven and call us.
- The guide groups F91 with four neighboring codes, so we confirm on the range which lock reading is actually off.
- We test the lock and its wiring before we suggest the control board.
Other Range codes
How is F91 different from F90?
Both are door lock codes. The owner guide lists F90 through F94 together without separating them, so we check the lock circuit on your range itself rather than guess a part from the number.
Is it safe to try the oven again after a reset?
If the code stays away and the door latches normally, yes. If F91 returns, do not keep cycling the power. Leave the oven off and call us so the lock can be tested.
My door is stuck shut. What now?
Let the oven cool completely, try the power reset once, and do not pry the door. If it stays locked, we will free it safely and then test the lock before the oven is used again.
