What SF means
SF stands for Sabbath Failure on Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch ranges, such as the EW30GS65GS and EW30DS65GS. It shows when the power went out while Sabbath mode was running. After an outage the oven does not turn itself back on, which is by design. The range itself is not damaged. You need to exit Sabbath mode and start your cooking again.
Common causes of SF
- A power outage or brownout while Sabbath mode was active
- A tripped breaker or loose connection that cut power briefly
1. Exit Sabbath mode from the keypad as the owner guide describes. 2. Check that the range has power and the breaker is on. 3. Set the oven again from the start. 4. If SF returns without a power outage, call us.
- If SF appears with no outage, we check the supply and the connection before the control.
- We look at how the range lost power.
Other Range codes
Is SF an error code on my range?
It is a status message about a power failure during Sabbath mode, not a breakdown. The range is not broken. It simply did not restart itself after the power came back.
Will the oven start cooking again on its own?
No. By design the oven will not restart by itself after an outage. You must exit Sabbath mode and set the oven again from the start.
Food was in the oven during the outage. Is it safe?
If the power was off for a long time, check the food temperature and use your judgment about it. When in doubt about perishable food, it is safer to discard it.
Still unsure about SF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
