What F10 means
F10 on Electrolux wall ovens, including the EW30EW55GS, EW30EW65GS, E30EW75GSS and EI30EW45JS and other wall ovens from 2007 on, means the oven detected higher than normal temperatures. It is a built-in safety alert, and the service documents call it a potential runaway condition. On a Stone-Baked Pizza oven, it can also appear when the Pizza Shield sits on the wrong rack, position 7. The oven shuts down and shows F10, and the cavity may still be hot.
Common causes of F10
- Temperature sensor reading wrong
- Relay or element that stays on
- Pizza Shield on the wrong rack, on pizza models
- Control board
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. 2. Remove any foil or items from the racks, and on a pizza oven, check the Pizza Shield is on the correct rack. 3. Reset the oven by unplugging it for 30 seconds or turning the breaker off. 4. If F10 returns, do not use the oven and call us.
- F10 means the oven was too hot, but not whether the sensor misread or a relay held the heat on, so we test both.
- We check how the oven heats and shuts off, and we do not run it hot.
- You see a written price before work, and on an older oven we say plainly if a repair is not worth it.
Other Wall Oven codes
Is F10 dangerous?
It is a safety alert, so treat it seriously. The oven shuts down to protect itself, and it should not be used if F10 comes back. We test before it is used again.
Can the Pizza Shield cause F10?
On Stone-Baked Pizza ovens, yes. If the shield is on the wrong rack, position 7, the oven can read high temperatures. Check it before anything else.
Is it worth repairing an older oven?
Often the fix is a sensor or a control part. We give a written price, and we tell you plainly if replacing the oven makes more sense.
Still seeing F10?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
