What F25 means
Built-in Electrolux wall ovens from 2007, among them the EW30EW55GS, EW30EW65GS and EW27EW65GS, show F25 when the oven control does not detect a zero-cross signal on the upper or lower convection fan and lights board. That signal is a timing reference the board needs to switch the fan and lights properly. The control beeps, F25 appears, and the fan or lights may stop working. Ovens of this age are still working in plenty of kitchens, and fixing them is part of what we do.
Common causes of F25
- The convection fan and lights board for the upper or lower oven
- Wiring and connectors feeding that board
- The oven control board
1. Press any key to see whether F25 clears. 2. If it stays, shut off the oven at its breaker for a full half minute before turning it back on. 3. Note whether the oven light and convection fan work in each oven. 4. Should the code return, leave the oven unused until we have looked at it.
- A timing signal can go missing at the board, at its connectors or at the control, and the display cannot tell which, so we trace the circuit one stage at a time.
- We check the connectors and wiring first because they are the least costly to correct.
- The quote comes before the work, and if repairing this oven makes little sense, you will hear that from us first.

What does the zero-cross signal do?
The fan and lights board takes a timing reference from the incoming AC power to know when to switch. If the control never sees that reference, it displays F25.
Does F25 affect baking?
It can. The convection fan and lights are tied to that board, so you may lose them, and the oven may not run as it should.
Should I try more resets?
One reset is fine. If F25 keeps returning, repeated resets only delay the repair, and we would rather trace the cause for you. That saves you time and a second visit.

A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
