What E 33 / E 73 means

E 33 and E 73 show on Electrolux ICON 36-inch induction cooktops, the E36IC75FSS among them, when the filter board is putting out an improper voltage. This is a different finding from a low 12-volt supply: here the board's output is present but not at the level the modules expect. The cooktop stops heating the affected zones and shows whichever of the two numbers the control reports.

Common causes of E 33 / E 73

  • Filter board output voltage
  • Connector between the filter board and each module
  • Line-side power quality at the cooktop
  • Generator board reacting to a bad input
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn all zones off and wait for the glass to cool. 2. Power the cooktop down at its supply and bring it back up to reset it. 3. Record whether the number was E 33 or E 73. 4. If it appears again, leave the cooktop off and tell us the number when you call.

! Why to stop there
  • A power cycle does not show whether the filter board output is drifting, so we measure its voltage with the cooktop powered.
  • We check the board connectors for heat marks, since a poor connection can change the voltage the modules receive.
  • You approve the price in writing first, and the repair is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E 33 / E 73E 33 / E 73 questions
How is this different from the low supply code?

The low supply code means the small control voltage is weak. This one means the filter board output is not the voltage the modules require, and we test it separately.

Does cookware matter here?

No. This is an internal power issue, so changing pans will not clear it. The filter board sits behind the glass and feeds every module, so pan type, size and placement have no effect on this message.

Should I try other zones?

We suggest not. If the board output is wrong, running other zones keeps stressing the same parts. Leave the cooktop off until we test it, and tell us which number you saw so we can bring the right parts.
