What Sb / SF means
On Electrolux IQ-Touch electric cooktops such as the EI30EC45KS and EI36EC45KS, Sb in the minute timer display means Sabbath mode is active, and SF means power failed during Sabbath mode and the elements switched off. These are status messages, not breakdowns. In Sabbath mode the cooktop runs in a special way, so it may not respond to the controls as you expect until the mode is turned off.
Common causes of Sb / SF
- Sabbath mode left switched on
- Power outage while Sabbath mode was running
- Touch controls not responding as usual in this mode
1. Turn Sabbath mode off using the cooktop's controls as described in your owner's guide. 2. If SF is showing, turn all elements off and then start again after the mode is cleared. 3. If the controls still do not respond, switch the power supply off and on. 4. If the message stays, call us.
- If Sabbath mode will not turn off from the controls, the touch panel may not be reading your input, so we test it.
- After a power failure, we check that the cooktop restarts normally.
- We tell you the price in writing if any part is needed.
Other Cooktop codes
What does Sb mean?
It means Sabbath mode is on. The cooktop is working as designed, and you turn the mode off from the controls. You control the mode from the cooktop's own controls, and the owner's guide for your model shows how to switch it off.
What does SF mean?
It means the power failed while Sabbath mode was on and the elements were turned off. The cooktop did this to protect you. After SF appears, the elements stay off until you cancel the mode and set the cooktop up again from the beginning.
Why will my cooktop not heat normally?
It may still be in Sabbath mode. Turn the mode off first, then try a zone. In Sabbath mode the cooktop is designed to respond differently to the controls, so it can seem broken when it is only in a special mode.
