EW30GC55PS
Electrolux EW30GC55PS Gas Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Burner that clicks a long time before lighting
- Flame that wavers or lifts
- One burner weaker than the others
- Cap that does not sit flat
The EW30GC55PS is the P generation of the 30-inch EW gas cooktop, sold in stainless as PS and in black as PB, with builds numbered 0 and 1. It followed the EW30GC55GS and has sealed burners with spark ignition. Electrolux has discontinued it, but we still service it.
A burner that clicks for a long time before lighting is usually telling us something simple. Liquid under the cap, a dirty port or a damp igniter are the usual reasons. We clean and dry the burner, reseat the cap, and then watch the flame at high and low settings. Wavering or lifting flames are checked against the port condition first.
With four possible endings, the label matters, and we read it before ordering parts. You get the price in writing ahead of time, and our 30-day workmanship guarantee covers the finished repair. We are also honest when an older cooktop is not worth the cost of a part.

What do PS0, PS1, PB0 and PB1 mean?
They are builds of the same EW30GC55PS cooktop: PS stands for stainless, PB for black, and the number is the build. We read the label to match any part you need.
Why does the flame waver?
On a sealed-burner cooktop, a wavering flame can come from partly blocked ports or a cap that is not seated properly. We clean and reseat the burner, then check the flame again.
Is this cooktop the same as the EW30GC55GS?
No. The P generation followed the EW30GC55GS, and burner heads, igniters or caps can differ between the two. That is another reason we read the label on your unit before we order anything for it.
