What High Temp means
On Electrolux ICON built-in all-freezer columns with the Custom Set control, such as the E32AF85PQS, E32AF75JPS, EI32AF80QS and EI32AF65JS, the HIGH TEMP light comes on when the cabinet goes above 23 F. After one hour at that temperature the alarm sounds and the display shows the cabinet temperature. The alert stays active until the cabinet is below 23 F again. A door left open, a big warm load or a cooling problem can all cause it. Alarm Off silences the sound only.
Common causes of High Temp
- Door ajar or worn gasket
- Evaporator fan or defrost system
- Sealed system cooling
- Cabinet temperature sensor
1. Press Alarm Off to quiet the alarm. 2. Make sure the door is fully closed and the shelves and bins are not blocking it. 3. Read the cabinet temperature on the display and give the freezer a few hours to recover. 4. If the light stays on, move food to another freezer and call us.
- The light says the cabinet is warm, but it does not say why, so we check airflow, defrost and cooling.
- We read the cabinet temperature on site rather than relying on the alarm alone.
- You see the written price first, and on an older built-in we tell you honestly if a repair makes sense.

When does the alarm sound?
The light comes on when the cabinet passes 23 F. The alarm waits for one hour at that temperature, so a short opening of the door should not set it off.
Does silencing the alarm fix the problem?
No. Alarm Off only stops the sound. The High Temp light stays on until the cabinet drops below 23 F, which means the cooling has to recover.
Should I throw out the food?
It depends on how warm it got and for how long. Check each item with care, and discard food that has thawed and stayed warm.
