What F1 means
F1 on the older Electrolux built-in wall ovens with the four-code control shows first for several different control problems. It covers the F10 runaway temperature condition, the F11 shorted keypad and the F13 corrupted checksum, and all of them appear as F1 at first. These ovens are well past their first decade, and we still service them in Houston kitchens. The display does not say which of the three it is, so the exact code has to be read separately before anyone can name the cause.
Common causes of F1
- Oven temperature running too high
- Keypad or touch panel reading as pressed
- Control memory checksum
- Control board
1. Press CLEAR to dismiss the code. 2. Switch the oven off and give it time to cool if the cavity feels hot. 3. Do not use the oven if the code returns, and do not leave it on unattended. 4. Call us and tell us F1 showed.
- F1 is a group, so we need to read which of the three codes is behind it before we know what to repair.
- We check whether the oven temperature was running high, because that case is the most serious.
- You get a written quote first, and if the age of the oven makes a repair a poor value, we tell you that directly.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does F1 stand for?
It is the first display for a group of control failures, among them a runaway temperature, a shorted keypad and a corrupted checksum. We read which one it is when we visit.
Can I find the exact code myself?
The control has a way to show it, but it needs a precise key sequence and we do not suggest you try it. We can read the exact code when we visit.
Is this worth repairing on an older oven?
That depends on the exact cause. Once we know it, you get a written price and our candid opinion on whether a new oven would serve your kitchen better.
Still seeing F1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
