What F13 means
On Electrolux built-in wall ovens from the 2007 generation, such as the EW30EW55GS, EW30EW65GS and EW27EW65GS, F13 means the control checksum is corrupted. The control checks its stored program against a checking value, and when they do not match, it shows F13 and beeps. It is a memory problem inside the control. The oven may stop or ignore your presses. Cutting the power for 30 seconds is the first step, and an older oven like this is one we still repair.
Common causes of F13
- Control memory that was corrupted
- Display board
- Power event that disturbed the control
1. Touch one key on the panel to dismiss the beeping. 2. If F13 stays, turn the power off for 30 seconds, at the breaker or the plug. 3. Switch the power on again and reset the time. 4. Try a short bake. If F13 returns, call us.
- A power-off can clear a one-time glitch, but a code that returns points to the display board, so we test it.
- We check the power to the oven in case a surge disturbed the control.
- We quote in writing first, and on an older oven we tell you plainly if the board is worth replacing.
Other Wall Oven codes
What is a checksum?
It is a check the control does on its own stored program. If the check fails, the stored program may be damaged, so the control shows F13 and beeps until you clear it.
Will turning the power off fix it?
Sometimes. A one-time glitch can clear after the power is off for 30 seconds. If F13 comes back after that, the display board is the more likely repair, and we test it.
Can a power surge cause F13?
It can, but we cannot tell that from the code alone. We check the oven's supply and the board before we say what happened, so you hear only what we confirm.

A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
