What F26 means
F26 on Electrolux electric ranges is a communication error, grouped in the owner guide with F3 and F20. It means the oven controller lost contact with another control in the range. Be aware that on double wall ovens the same code has a different meaning, which is a missing lower oven select signal, so tell us what type of appliance you own. The oven may stop and show the code. Many of these ranges are older.
Common causes of F26
- Wiring and connectors between the controls
- The secondary control board
- Oven control board
1. Stop power to the range for up to half a minute, either by plug or by breaker. 2. Restore power and see whether F26 returns. 3. Note whether the oven, the cooktop or both are affected. 4. If F26 shows up again, give us a call.
- F26 says a link is broken, but not which part broke it, so we test the connections before the boards.
- We confirm what type of appliance you have, because the meaning differs on a double wall oven.
- The price is given on paper first, and we are honest when the range is too old to be worth repairing.
Other Range codes
Why does F26 mean something else on a wall oven?
On a double wall oven it reports a missing lower oven select signal. On a range it is a communication error, so we confirm which one you have.
Will the stovetop still work?
Possibly, but we cannot promise it for every range. Tell us what still works and we will plan the check around that. We look at how the code behaves on your appliance before deciding what to test.
Can a power reset fix it?
A reset can clear a one-time glitch. If F26 returns, the link needs to be tested, which we do before any part is suggested. We would rather confirm the cause than guess at a part.
Still seeing F26?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
