Electrolux E30EW85GSS Icon Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Upper oven convection fan
- Lower oven bake element
- Touch control keys that miss presses
- Door lock and gasket
Electrolux made the E30EW85GSS as a G-generation Designer Series double wall oven, 30 inches wide and electric, built as E30EW85GSS1 through GSS4. Its Professional twin is the E30EW85GPS. It is a discontinued model, and like most double ovens it has the convection feature in the upper cavity.
Owners of this oven notice three things: the upper oven’s convection fan changing sound or stopping, the lower oven taking longer to preheat, and touch keys that need a second press. We handle them in that order of parts. The fan motor is tested for supply and resistance. The lower bake element is tested with the power off. For the keys, we check the touch panel connection before the board.
We read the plate for the exact build before ordering, because the GSS builds are not the same in every detail. The quote is in writing first, and an older double oven that costs too much to repair will get an honest recommendation.

The convection fan in my upper oven stopped. Can you replace it?
Yes. We test the motor and the power it receives. If the motor has failed, we replace it, then check the oven's temperature while the fan runs to confirm the repair.
My lower oven is slow to preheat. What does that mean?
A weakening bake element is the usual cause. We test it with the power off and check the sensor reading too. The element alone is often an inexpensive part.
Do the touch keys wear out?
They can, from heat and from years of pressing. We check the panel connection and the board before suggesting a panel. If the panel is needed, we confirm it is available first.
