Electrolux rated the EI30MO45GS, a built-in microwave 30 inches wide, at 1100 watts. The display only proves the control has power. We test the door switches, then the high-voltage diode, capacitor and magnetron. Only the magnetron is expensive, so we check the cheaper parts first and show you the numbers.
Can a built-in microwave be repaired without removing it?
Most repairs are done with the unit pulled forward on its trim kit, and some are done through the front. We protect the cabinet and tell you in advance if the unit has to come fully out.
The turntable in my microwave does not rotate. Is that a big repair?
Usually not. We check the roller ring and coupler first, then the small drive motor. A new motor or coupler is a modest repair compared with the microwave itself.
