EW30IF60IS

Electrolux EW30IF60IS Induction Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Pan that the induction zone refuses to detect
  2. Cooktop zone that cuts out while cooking
  3. Cooling fan noise or a cooktop that shuts down hot
  4. Oven that heats slowly or off the set temperature

The EW30IF60IS is a 30-inch electric freestanding range with an induction cooktop and Wave-Touch controls. The range is out of production at Electrolux, so it is an older induction model, still in use in many Houston kitchens.

Induction heats the pan itself with a magnetic field, so service on the cooktop is different from a regular electric coil or radiant top. If a zone will not start, we first rule out the pan: it must be magnetic and sit flat and centered. Then we examine the zone’s inductor, the cooling fan beneath the glass and the power electronics. The oven side is more conventional, with its own element, sensor and control to test.

Because revisions exist, we read the model and serial from the rating plate and only then order parts. Ordering the wrong board is expensive, and we would rather confirm than guess. You will have a written estimate before any repair, and if the cost is too close to a new range, we will tell you that straight.

EW30IF60ISEW30IF60IS questions
Why does my induction zone say there is no pan?

We begin with a flat magnetic pan, because a warped or non-magnetic pan will not register. If the zone still ignores it, the problem is inside the range, typically an inductor, sensor or power board, and we price it before ordering.

Can I use any cookware on the EW30IF60IS?

Induction needs magnetic cookware. A magnet that sticks firmly to the bottom of the pan is a good test. Aluminum and copper pans without a magnetic base will not heat.

Does an older induction range cost a lot to repair?

Cooktop electronics can be pricey on any induction model. We diagnose first, give you the exact cost before work, and say so honestly if replacement makes more sense.
