What E11 means

E11 is the EE memory error on the Electrolux ICON and IQ under-counter ice makers, models such as the EI15IM55GS, E15IM60GSS and E15IM60GPS. It means the control board could not read or trust the settings stored in its memory chip. Unlike the sensor codes, it points to the board itself. The code is stored in the service menu, and the owner may notice the unit behaves oddly, will not start, or stops making ice, often with ER or P1 shown on the display.

Common causes of E11

  • Control board memory
  • Power interruption or surge that corrupted settings
  • Board connection that needs checking
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Check that the unit is plugged in and the outlet has power. 2. Note whether the display shows ER or P1 and what the unit is doing. 3. Do not open the cabinet or touch the board. 4. Call us and describe what the display shows.

! Why to stop there
  • A memory error points to the board, but a bad connection or a power event can look the same, so we check the supply first.
  • We read the error log for other codes that may have come with it.
  • You see a written price before we begin, and we tell you if a board is not worth it on an older unit.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E11E11 questions
What is an EE memory error?

The control stores its settings in a small memory. If it cannot read them properly, it records E11. The memory is part of the board, so the board is where we look first after the power.

Can a power surge cause it?

It can, but we cannot say that from the code alone. We check the supply and the board connections before pointing to a cause, so you do not pay for the wrong part.

Can I reset it myself?

We know of no owner reset for this code, so please do not try button combinations. Call us, and we will check the board and quote the repair in writing.
