What E 30 / E 70 means

On the Electrolux ICON 36-inch induction cooktop, such as the E36IC75FSS, which has a three-zone module and a two-zone module, E 30 and E 70 point to the incoming AC voltage being higher than the induction electronics accept. The two numbers share one meaning, and we confirm which module is reporting it when we test. You will see the number on the display and the affected zones stop heating.

Common causes of E 30 / E 70

  • Line voltage arriving at the cooktop from the breaker
  • Loose or heat-damaged supply wiring at the cooktop connection
  • The filter board that conditions incoming power
  • The generator board in the affected module
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn all zones off and let the glass cool. 2. Reset the control by turning the cooktop's power supply off and then on again. 3. If the number comes back, write it down along with the time of day and whether other large appliances were running. 4. Do not keep restarting the cooktop; contact us with the number.

! Why to stop there
  • A reset does not show whether the voltage is truly high at the house or whether a board is misreading it, so we measure supply voltage at the cooktop connection.
  • If the supply is normal, we test the filter and generator boards to find the one reporting wrongly.
  • This number could be a house wiring or utility issue, which we tell you plainly if it is not a cooktop repair.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E 30 / E 70E 30 / E 70 questions
Is E 30 different from E 70?

They carry the same meaning on this cooktop. We treat them as the same voltage condition and confirm which module is involved when we test.

Could my house voltage be the problem?

Yes, that is possible, and it is the first thing we measure. If the supply is out of range, replacing cooktop parts will not hold, and we tell you before you pay for anything.

Is it safe to keep using the cooktop?

We suggest leaving it off after the number returns. Over-voltage can stress the electronics, so a short visit costs less than a damaged board. If it is a supply issue at the house, we explain that clearly so you know who to call.
