What E XX (hybrid) means

The Electrolux Wave-Touch radiant and induction hybrid cooktop, such as the EW30CC55GS and EW36CC55GS, reports an error by lighting the letter E in the zone LEDs and showing digits in the minute timer LED. Together the letter and the digits form the error code. Because this cooktop mixes radiant and induction cooking, the number may point to either side, and we use it to decide where to test first.

Common causes of E XX (hybrid)

  • Control reading for the recorded number
  • Induction module or radiant element circuit
  • Touch panel connection
  • Supply voltage to the cooktop
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn off all zones and let the glass cool completely. 2. Switch the power supply to the cooktop off, then back on. 3. Note the digits in the timer LED if the error returns. 4. Contact us with those digits and which zone LEDs showed the E.

! Why to stop there
  • A restart only clears a one-time error, so we read the number and test the circuit it points to, on the radiant side or the induction side.
  • We check the supply voltage at the cooktop, because a weak supply can trigger errors on a hybrid.
  • If the repair costs a lot against the cooktop's age, we tell you plainly before you decide.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E XX (hybrid)E XX (hybrid) questions
What is a hybrid cooktop?

It combines radiant zones and induction zones on one glass surface. That is why an error can come from either kind of zone. The radiant zones glow with heated elements under the glass, while the induction zones heat the pan directly, and each side has its own electronics.

Which digits should I report?

Give us the digits shown in the timer LED, in order, and tell us which zone LEDs showed the E. Those details save time at the visit.

Will the whole cooktop stop working?

Sometimes only the affected zone stops. Other zones may keep working, but we suggest not testing them repeatedly if the error keeps returning. Because the radiant and induction zones have separate electronics, one side may keep heating while the other shows an error.
