What H means
An H in a zone LED on Electrolux ICON induction cooktops, such as the E36IC75FSS and E30IC75FSS, tells you the zone is off but still hot from cooking. It is a warning, not a breakdown, and it stays on until the glass cools down. Some newer models show HE instead of H for the same warning. If H stays lit with the whole cooktop completely cold, that may point to the temperature sensor circuit instead.
Common causes of H
- Normal leftover heat from cooking
- A cooktop not yet cooled after long use
- Temperature sensor reading wrongly if it stays on cold
1. Keep hands, towels and plastic away from the zone while H is lit. 2. Wait for the glass to cool. H goes out by itself. 3. If H is still lit hours after cooking and the glass feels cold, switch the power supply off and on. 4. If it stays lit while the cooktop is cold, call us.
- After a long cooking session H can take a while to clear, so we only suspect a sensor if the glass feels cold and H stays.
- We test the zone's temperature sensor circuit when H does not match the real temperature.
- The price is given in writing, and our repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Cooktop codes
Is H an error code?
No. It means residual heat. It is there to warn you not to touch the glass. Treat it as a friendly reminder that the surface can burn you, and use it to decide when it is safe to wipe the glass.
How long does H stay on?
It stays until the zone cools. How long that takes depends on how long and how hot you were cooking. A large pot on high heat can leave the zone warm for a long time, so H may stay lit well after you turn the knob off.
What if H stays on all day?
If the cooktop feels cold and H remains, tell us. That may be a sensor issue we can test. A sensor reading that does not match the real temperature can leave H lit on a cold cooktop, and we can test that circuit.
Still unsure about H?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
