ELMED75K

Electrolux ELMED75K Electric Dryer Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Heating element and thermal protection
  2. Steam inlet valve and hose
  3. Control response on the Luxury-Touch panel
  4. Lint in the vent run

Electrolux built the ELMED75K as an electric front-load dryer with an 8.0 cu. ft. drum, Luxury-Touch controls and Perfect Steam. It is discontinued now, yet we still see it in Houston laundry rooms and we do repair it. Other endings include ELMED75KIW, which is Island White, and ELMED75KSS.

Electric dryers run on a 240-volt circuit. When the drum turns but stays cold, our first tests go to the heating element, then the thermal fuse and the cycling thermostat. The steam feature adds a water hose and valve, and when steam is missing we check that water reaches the dryer first. If the Luxury-Touch panel is slow or unresponsive, we test the connections and board.

With an older dryer, we read the tag first and confirm parts can still be had. You see a written price before any work, and we tell you straight when replacing makes more sense. Our workmanship is covered for 30 days.

ELMED75KELMED75K questions
Can the ELMED75K still be repaired now that it is discontinued?

Yes. It is an older dryer, though many heating, door and control parts can still be found. We check availability from your label first, quote a written price, and tell you honestly if replacing the dryer makes more sense.

My dryer spins but never gets hot. What is the likely cause?

On electric dryers, the heating element, thermal fuse and thermostat get tested one by one. A blocked vent often causes the fuse to open, so we also clear the duct to prevent a repeat.

What do you check when the steam does not work?

We start outside the dryer: the water valve, hose and inlet screen. If water gets in, we test the steam parts inside. Many steam complaints turn out to be a closed valve or a kinked hose.
