ELMGD75K
Electrolux ELMGD75K Gas Dryer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Gas igniter and valve coils
- Steam hose and inlet screen
- Luxury-Touch panel response
- Burner lint and vent restriction
Electrolux made the ELMGD75K as a gas front-load dryer with an 8.0 cu. ft. drum, Luxury-Touch controls and Perfect Steam. Silver Sands is the finish on this one, and ELMGD75KIW and ELMGD75KSS are sister endings. Production has stopped, but these dryers remain in many Houston homes, and we repair them.
This dryer pulls from three sources: a gas line, a water supply for the steam, and a vent to the outside. If the drum spins cold, the igniter and the gas valve coils come first. When the steam feature stays quiet, we check the water valve, hose and inlet screen. When the touch panel is slow, we check the connections before the board. Lint in the burner area is worth a look on any gas dryer this age.
For a dryer that is no longer made, the tag decides what we can still order, so we read it first. You get the price in writing, an honest opinion on whether to fix it, and a 30-day warranty on the repair.

Is the ELMGD75K the gas twin of the ELMED75K?
Yes. Both are Luxury-Touch steam dryers with 8.0 cu. ft. drums. The ELMGD is gas and the ELMED is electric, so the heating parts are completely different.
My dryer runs but never heats. What do you test first?
We make sure gas reaches the dryer, then test the igniter and the valve coils. We also measure vent airflow, because a blocked vent can shut the burner off.
Can this discontinued dryer still be repaired?
Usually yes. Igniters, coils, sensors and belts are everyday jobs for us. We look up parts using your label and give a written price, and we say so if a new dryer would be smarter.
