EFMC627U
Electrolux EFMC627U Dryer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Dryer that tumbles but does not get hot
- Cycle that takes much longer than it used to
- Dryer that shuts off by itself
- Worn drum parts that squeal or thump
The EFMC627U is an older Electrolux dryer, also sold as the EFMC627UIW and EFMC627UTT, with revisions UIW0, UIW1, UIW2, UTT0, UTT1 and UTT2 on record. We know little about its features beyond that, so we judge it by the way it runs.
Long cycles and automatic shutoffs both lead back to airflow, so we check the vent, the lint trap and the exhaust path. After that we test the heat and the safety parts. A dryer that squeals or thumps gets its rollers and belt inspected, since they wear with age on any dryer.
These older numbers can be hard to match, so we take the full model and serial from the label first and look up what is available before we promise a part. We give you the price before we start. Repairs include a 30-day warranty, and we will tell you if replacement is wiser.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my dryer shut off by itself?
Most often the dryer is overheating because the vent is restricted, which trips a safety part. We clear the vent, test the safety parts and check the heating circuit.
Is the EFMC627U the same as the EFMC527U?
They are similar numbers from the same family of dryers, but they are not identical. We use your label to be sure which one we are working on.
Can you find parts for older dryers?
Usually we can find common parts like belts, rollers and elements. If a part is scarce, we tell you the wait and the cost before you decide.
