What E91 means

E91 is a Communication Error on Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch dryers such as the EIED55HIW, EIGD55HIW, EWED65HSS and EWMED65HIW. The control board and the interface board, which holds the buttons and display, are not talking properly. The chart lists wiring, the control board or the interface board as the causes. The panel may be blank or the dryer may not respond at all.

Common causes of E91

  • Wiring between the control board and the interface board
  • Interface board
  • Control board
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Close the door fully and press the power button. 2. See whether the display responds. 3. Do not open the console. 4. If E91 persists, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • We check the connections first, and only then decide whether a board needs replacing.
  • We test both boards in the chain.
  • We say plainly when a repair is not worth it on an older dryer, and you approve a written price first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
