What E13 means

E13 tells you an Electrolux Wave-Touch or IQ-Touch front-load washer in the EWFLW65H or EIFLW55H series, such as the EWFLW65HIW or EIFLW55HMB, believes it has a water leak in the tub or an air leak in the air bell. The air bell is the small chamber the pressure sensor reads through. The chart behind this entry covers the 2008 to 2010 washers, and later front-loaders may follow it too, though we cannot promise that.

Common causes of E13

  • Water escaping from the tub or a seal
  • Air escaping from the air bell or its tube
  • The pressure sensor reading through that tube
  • The main control board
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Look on the floor and around the washer for water. If you find some, stop the washer. 2. Make sure the fill and drain hoses are snug at both ends. 3. Wipe the door boot dry and see if it is torn or has trapped debris. 4. If E13 returns, unplug the washer and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Water and air leaks need different tests, so we check both before touching the sensor.
  • The pressure sensor is tested only after the tube and bell are ruled out.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E13E13 questions
Does E13 always mean water on the floor?

No. It can also be an air leak in the air bell that disturbs the reading, so look for water but do not be surprised if you find none.

Is it safe to run another load with E13?

If you see water, no. Keep the washer off and dry the area until it is checked. If there is no water, it is still better to wait for a proper test.

What is an air bell?

It is a small chamber that connects tub pressure to the pressure sensor, so the washer can read the water level. A leak in it can give a false reading.
