What E94 means
On Electrolux front-load washers of the Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch design like the EWFLW65HIW and EIFLW55HIW, E94 means the main control board has found a control problem of its own. The main board is the brain that runs fill, wash, drain and spin. The display shows E94 and the washer may stop or not start. We still look after these older washers in Houston and will tell you if the repair costs more than it should.
Common causes of E94
- The main control board
- Its power and ground connections
- The harness to the console and motor control
1. Switch the washer off and unplug it for a few minutes. 2. Plug it directly into the wall outlet, not an extension cord. 3. Run one short cycle and watch the display. 4. If E94 comes back, stop using the washer and give us a call.
- Connectors and incoming power are checked before the main board is blamed.
- If the board is the cause, we explain whether replacing it suits an older washer.
- Our quote comes in writing, and the work is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty once you approve it.
Other Washer codes
Must the board always be replaced for E94?
No. Loose connectors and supply problems can look like a board problem, so those get tested first. If the board is the cause, we give you the cost and whether it is worth it.
May I keep running the washer?
If it works after a restart you might finish a load, but the code can return and stop it with wet clothes inside. We would not rely on it until it has been checked.
How does E94 differ from E93?
They are related. E94 points to the main board only, while E93 refers to the console or the main board, and we test the board and its connections for both.
