What EA2 / EA3 means
EA2 reports power supply voltage that is too high and EA3 reports voltage that is too low on front-load Electrolux washers in the Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch range like the EWFLW65HSS and EIFLW55HMB. The washer is telling you the voltage reaching its control is outside the safe limits. The display shows EA2 or EA3 and the washer stops. These models are older and still found in many Houston homes, and we will let you know if repairing one does not make sense.
Common causes of EA2 / EA3
- The supply voltage at the outlet
- A loose or damaged outlet or cord
- The main control board that reads the voltage
1. Turn the washer off and plug it straight into a wall outlet. 2. Note whether lights dim or other appliances act strangely when it runs. 3. Avoid extension cords and adapters. 4. If EA2 or EA3 comes back, stop and call us.
- The code tells us the supply is high or low at the washer, so we test the outlet before the board.
- If the supply is normal, the control board is next.
- You get a written price before the work, and we guarantee the workmanship for 30 days.

How do I know whether EA2 or EA3 is from my house power?
Dimming lights or other odd behavior from appliances on the same circuit is a clue. We check the voltage at the outlet to be sure before we look at the washer's own board.
Can a loose outlet cause EA3?
Yes. A worn outlet or poor connection can drop the voltage at the washer, which is why we plug it into a known good outlet and measure before we blame any part.
Who fixes house wiring?
If the supply turns out to be the problem, an electrician or the utility is the right contact for that. We will tell you exactly what we find so you know where to go next.
