EIFLS55I is the series number for an IQ-Touch front-load washer with Perfect Steam and a 4.2 cubic foot drum. The same washer was sold in three finishes, EIFLS55IIW, EIFLS55IMB and EIFLS55IRR. It is discontinued, an older model from an earlier 27-inch laundry line, and still found in many Houston homes.
Because the whole series shares one design, the finish letters tell us little about what is inside. What we check is how the washer behaves. We run a cycle, watch the steam and fill, and then look at the drain filter, the pump, the door lock and the boot seal. If the IQ-Touch panel is slow or blank, we test the panel connection before the control board.
The series number alone cannot identify a part, so we take the finish and serial from the nameplate first. The estimate is on paper before any tool comes out, and we will say so when repairing an older steam washer is not a good value.
