What CHECK HOSES means
CHECK HOSES shows during the Install Cycle on Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch front-load washers in the EWFLW65H and EIFLW55H series, such as the EWFLW65HIW and EIFLW55HIW. The drum temperature did not rise as expected while filling, which usually means the hot hose is on the cold faucet and the cold hose is on the hot faucet. The washer leaves the Install Cycle and drains. This is an older text version of the HO SE message.
Common causes of CHECK HOSES
- Hot and cold hoses connected to the wrong faucets
- A hot water supply that is off or not reaching the washer
- A temperature sensor that did not read the water
1. Turn the water off and disconnect both fill hoses. 2. Reconnect each hose to the correct inlet by following the installation instructions. 3. Press Cancel to clear the message. 4. Run the Install Cycle again. If CHECK HOSES returns, call us.
- If the hoses are right and the message stays, we test the water temperature reading.
- We check that hot water actually reaches the washer.
Other Washer codes
Is CHECK HOSES a washer defect?
Usually it is a hookup issue. The hot and cold hoses may be on the wrong inlets, so the water temperature does not rise the way the Install Cycle expects.
How do I clear the CHECK HOSES message?
Turn off the water, fix the hoses by following the installation instructions, press Cancel, then repeat the Install Cycle. The washer drains when it leaves the cycle.
What if the hoses are already correct?
The hot water supply may be off or low, or a temperature sensor may not be reading correctly. We can test the water temperature and the sensor to find which it is.
