EFMC527U
Electrolux EFMC527U Front Load Dryer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Dryer that runs without heat
- Clothes still wet at the end of the cycle
- Drum that is noisy or stiff to turn
- Dryer that will not start
The EFMC527U is an older Electrolux dryer, and the number is also sold as the EFMC527UIW and EFMC527UTT. Revisions called UIW0, UIW1, UIW2, UTT0, UTT1 and UTT2 are on record. We do not have a feature list for it, so we work from what the dryer actually does.
We begin with the vent and lint path, because a restricted vent explains many complaints of long drying and shutdowns. Then we run the dryer and measure heat to decide between the element, the safety parts and the controls. If the drum is stiff or noisy, we check the rollers, belt and support.
Six revisions is a long list, so we will not order anything until we have the full number from the label. If the dryer is too far gone to justify repair, we say it. A written price comes first and finished work is warranted for 30 days.

Do you repair dryers that have few records?
Yes. For the EFMC527U we work from the dryer itself: we test heat, airflow and the drum, and we find which part has failed before we quote.
What do UIW and UTT mean?
They are finish endings of the same model. UIW is white, and UTT is another finish. The revisions after them may change parts, so we use the full label.
Why is the drum noisy?
Worn rollers, a stretched belt or a damaged support are the common causes. We turn the drum by hand, listen while it runs, and replace what is worn.
